3DIcon and the University of Oklahoma Launch Focused Research Program to Develop 'Simple and Portable' Holographic Communications Systems
Innovative Display Techniques Being Pursued; Commercial Licensing Possible within 18 Months
TULSA, Okla., July 18/PRNewswire -- 3DIcon Corporation (OTC Pink Sheets: TDCP), a communications development company, today announced that it has expanded its relationship with the University of Oklahoma to encompass a dedicated research initiative to pursue likely pathways to the commercialization of digital holographic technology. Under a previous contract with 3DIcon, OU had narrowed its area of interest to several innovative holographic delivery and replication methods. Each of these avenues will now be pursued, with the goal of initial commercial licensing before the end of 2006.
The new 3DIcon/OU agreement became effective July 15, 2005, and it extends to January 15, 2007. Financial terms were not disclosed.
3DIcon CEO Martin Keating said, "The OU team members are concentrated on producing simple and portable holographic systems which would vastly expand the way people communicate. To our knowledge, no one else has ever looked at the industry or the possibilities this way. We believe we're onto something unique."
